Hi Jay , Not an expert here by any means but concerning the ground you put on the wire to the computer . If you grounded it to something that has another circuit grounded to it you might be getting backfeed from that ground . I've been told that all it has to be is in the vicinity of another ground for this to happen . It could be nothing more than just hearsay or maybe something to ask an electrician about .
