If I understand correct the parts you say are torched are a little different. The piece that covers hydraulics and controls,also what lights mount to has some extra holes on a 450. The hole that valve shaft sticks through to change from single to double acting on 450 is not in most 400,some late ones have it. No hole for key switch in 400 its switch is up in insturement panel and 450 has push button up there which makes those panels a little different. If careful the holes can be can be added to a 400 cover. If 400 cover never had a tach the tach hole needs a little shapeing to use one.
