Don"t know about the single wheel, but the 2 wheel narrow on the Super H I grew up with would go from straight ahead to locked in about a half second if you hit a hole or plow furrow just right. And of course you always had your thumb hooked behind a spoke where it shouldn"t be in the first place.

I can still hear the sound the steering gear made as it spun the wheel at warp speed.

And I can remember sitting in the field waiting to get feeling back in my thumb and wondering if I should claim it was broken and go to the house.
