Modern hydraulic systems like the one in your Oliver 1755 are supposed to have a built-in relief valve to prevent damage.

Even if you hold the hydraulic lever down after the cylinder hits its end of stroke (or the stop pin), you can't break anything. You will hear a squealing noise coming from inside the tractor when the relief valve activates.

Even old tractors like Hs and Ms have relief valves inside the belly pumps.
