When I removed the hydraulic oil strainer from the SC cylinder block, it was partically collapsed but otherwise in good shape. It appears the previous owner missed the oil port on the opposite side of the block and just collapsed it when tightning up the cap screws. I see there is a coil spring inside of the wire mesh that should press the port strainer into the oil port. Now, when I reinsert it, the intake port for the strainer doesn't reach the port where oil comes in from the pump. Short of buying another one, are there any tricks to stretching it back to its original shape so it will fit into the port? Thanks in advance.
