You will have to split the Cub and remove the clutch to replace the rear main seal. I have two cubs they both make noise in reverse. The other noise I'm not sure about that. I would take to top cover off and the pull rear cover for the PTO off and inspect all the internal parts. The teeth on my steering gear were worn so I put a shim in to tighten every thing up. That help the most on my steering probem.
