HELP, breather system on a Super M

Question. Today I helped a bud install a 450 gas head on a Super M. The original M head has a breather tube which runs from one side to the other inside the valve cover. This has a port that exits at the rear outside of the head. Then connects to the air cleaner to create a vacuum of sorts. Anyhow the 450 gas head has one breather port at the front, but not the rear. Nor does it have the rear port on the outside of the head. How did the 450s breather system connect to the air cleaner? Did it even connect to the air cleaner? I would like to get this right. Any help is appreciated. Brian
