As I recall the M had a govered speed range from roughly 500 rpm at low ible to 1450rpm at high idle. In that goverened range, that 350 Chevy won't be worth a tinkers damn. Now, can you imagine trying to set a truck engine in place with the M engine turning 2,500 rpm. Why the M would be more useful around a shop with a Super A engine, at least it would have enough torque at 650 rpm to do the job. Unless the shop is 1/2 mile or more long, the M will probably never see high gear.

Just how much is the cost of an M piston, sleeve, kit along with a head job? I'll bet it's less than 1/2 the cost of that proposed conversion.
