Well once every year you have to put in axel bearings but that is more from the weight (7500-8500 lbs) Other wise we use a 1456 springs on the preasure plate and a aircraft type of material on the face. The old trannys will old up real good. We have not busted any thing major yet but I am sure with time it will. Another way of Cheap powere is to find a 450 manifold with the 3 castings holding the intake & exh. together grind those off and you'll have less heat exchange and cooler air going in.
