Had that problem on a 450 once. Found that there was a wire or something in there that when we put the new pionts in would hit the side of the distubutor and short out the points. Look it over real good and make sure nothing touches the sides of the distubutor and make sure the conection from the condenser doesn't sit in deep enough to short it out either
