As you probably know, Lacquer thinner will lift enamel paint and melt the plastic handle of a screwdriver. When I was restoring a old dodge pickup with a varnished up tank, it struck me to try lacquer thinner and it sure worked slick. slosh it around a few times and let it sit then pour it back out. Since then I have used it to clean out varnish in carb, and tanks on several old cars and farm projects.
