c-135 Carb

we have a 91 combine with the c-135 engine. formerly it had the fuel pump replaced bypassed w/ 6 volt electric type. recently, the engine wont start and gas is leaking from the carb, overfilling the bowl.will a new float valve and seat possibly correct this problem? i see that a rebuilt carb is pretty expensive, $135 or more
