Time for a story. Our local starter/alternator/generator shop (who does VERY good work) had found for my dad a reduction starter for our M. We wanted to leave it on 6v but with our recient OH had hard times starting it. Anywho. They found one, fixed it up, and we tossed it in. The tractor fired right off. Quick, smooth, once. Then it'd just click. We pulled it and tried hitting the button. It would spin just fine. Put it back in, same story. Went back to the guys and they took it apart. Seems the bendex went out with the first start. New spring, and it's started hundreds of times since then. Rebuilt or new may not mean perfect. If the teeth are good on the starter, it could be the ring gear. Maybe pull the starter and check the teeth. The tractor will tend to stop in the same place every time. Roll it over and check the whole thing. Never know. Aaron
