The gear with teeth you are looking at is fourth gear (I am Positive). The fifth gear is a set of splines (male and female) that are in the middle of the that 4th gear. The round edges on 4th won't hurt it ans are not the problem. Fifth is a direct connection using no "gears" at all. The splines couple the input shaft to the ooutput shaft resulting in the road gear. There needs to be replacement of both pieces. It can be done without splitting the tractor. The belly pump (lift all) needs to come out the bottom, and the clutch coupling and clutch shaft removed. Then the front main bearing carrier and constant mesh gear. Catch the rollers with a cloth draped under the shaft. The 4th 5th sliding gear will then come off the shaft. Good used from salvage may be the only option. Extreme effort could be made to rebuild and temper the splines on both pieces, but that is extreme. I hope this helps, there are pictures in the serach for area above of 4th 5th slider. Ms and Hs look the same, they are different in size. Info/pics for Hs will be good as they are that similar. JimN

I can think of a few common, ordinary sounds in my daily life, too.
