I split my "H" some time ago to replace the entire back end,(Because the diff was in about 80 peices)by packing the back end with lumps of wood and supporting the front end by bolting on an axle with iron wheels on where the belly cover was. This enabled me to easily roll the front end away while I got the replacment back end ready.I reckon this should work with an"A" as well.
