You need to bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke. Remove the No1 sparkplug near the radiator and have someone to hand crank the engine while you hold your thumb over the plug hole until you feel compression. You can drop a large handle screwdriver on top of the piston and then watch the screwdriver rise as the engine is slowly cranked until it quits rising. You should be at at TDC and your timing mark should be aligned with the pointer. Make sure the handle is big enough so you don't drop it on top of piston. After your No1 piston is at TDC remove the cap and see where your rotor is pointing. It should be at the No1 plug tower that's close to 1 o'clock. If it isn't you need to pull the mag and turn the rotor to that position and reinstall the mag. Your plug wires should be in this firing order on the cap since the rotor turns CW. 2-1 4-3 Once you have the mag installed make sure its rotor is aligned with the No1 plug tower. If it isn't, pull the mag again and reinstall before you move the engine off TDC. If its rotor is at No1 try starting the engine. Hal
