I just happen to be in the process of tearing apart, cleaning and putting new gaskets on my radiator for my F-20 which I believe is the same as what you have. The overflow tube was 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch from the top. I had to utterly destroy it to get it out of there, unfortunate but it had already been damaged anyway.
