I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I think if you figure out what you need: engine power, gearing (TA?), pto (live or not), power steering or not, etc. then find out what is out there. The weaknesses seem to be the result of the use, maintenance and care the tractor has had. I have a 300u with no TA, power steering and a loader. I like the tractor a lot and it fits my needs well. I have done a lot of tinkering, but nothing major. A weakness of this tractor with a loader is the steering gearbox. Luckily, mine has been replaced with a heavier one (for a 340 or 460) that is in very good shape. Also reported to be a bear to steer without power steering, if it has a loader.
