jonnny: The front ends with tyrods out front don't steer as easy as tyrods behind. It quite simple socket and ball are going turn easier than yokes with pins. The tyrods out front were next to impossible to keep lined up 50-60 years ago when they were new. My dad bought a new one on an H in 51, by 53 he figured he'd already done a lifetime of tyrod adjusting, thus he removed the wide front and went narrow front. When he bought the 300 in 55 he wouldn't even consider wide front, even though IH had changed it to tyrods behind axle by then. The new wide fronts with tyrod behind axle were far superior to the old ones. In 25,000 hours of operation on my 560 and 656, I'll bet I didn't do as much tyrod adjustment as dad did in two years on that H. Any tyrod out front, front end I've seen since was little more than scrap metal. No one would ever buy to use, maybe for show, but I still wouldn't pay more than scrap price, and that includes making a profit at the scrap dealer.
