In most places 2nd. In some on flat smooth ground and not real thick it will pull it in 3rd. If in real thick grass that should be cut for hay 1st. I have pulled this mower for 20 years with M's. I have mowed locust thickets and thick blackberry briars. And cleaned up 3 or 4 farms with this very outfit. I know an old man in Winchester, KY that pulls 20 foot Woods mowers his M's on flat ground mostly, to clip pastures with. I mow lots of hills and can not pull a 20 footer on them. It will handle that mower as good as my 7610 Ford will, with the exception of power in thick grass.
