A dip stick that shoots out!!??? ok never heard that one, but possible I suppose on certain engines (with plugged up breathers). As far as oil spitting when the dipstick is out, that is true on engines that have side or center dipsticks on the side of the crank that is going up. Very little smoke should come out if any at all of the breather. If it is a very fresh rebuild with new pistons and sleeves and correctly fitted rings, it will stop after the rings seat in. If there is a bunch of smoke coming out it has old worn out cyls and pistons and new rings that can't fit tapered cylinder bores. I just cleaned the breather tube in my H because there was nothing coming out and I thought it might be an older rebuild, it was clean as a whistle in there and no smoke comes out when running. I had to clean out a bunch of dirt in the tube. I put my finger over the tube with it running and could feel the air pulses so it is breathing ok. ok this one is true and funny, I have heard of an engine that spilled oil out of the dipstick with the engine off, This kids mom told him to go fill the mini van with oil and he did! all the way to the top of the oil fill hole in the valve cover!!!
