Thats about what I had figured but was thinking they might have faded over the years and would look better painted.

I still think I'll beef up the bottom part with the fiberglass repair kit and even if its a differant color it wont really matter. The last kit I had (20 years ago) had fiberglass cloth and two part epoxy. It worked real good to repair a boat.
