Since you have fire from the coil wire to ground you may need a new coil wire that has copper wire and on your plug wires too. You can check the magnets for magnetism using a flatblade screwdriver. They should attract that screwdriver with some effort. If you are going to pull the mag from the tractor for some reason make sure you make a sketch of where the rotor is pointing and don't move the engine after the mag is off. Then when the mag is reinstalled you turn the rotor to the position in your sketch and install it on the tractor. Your coil should be under the cap with 4 screws as shown in this picture.
