Hi Havvey, Is the needle friction brake dragging enough? Sometimes if there is not enough drag on the friction disk the needles will over shoot the home position. There are 2 or 3 springs involved with the bale length control mechanism. Had the opposite problem on a 435 where bale length control would trip but would not trip the knotters. Solution was replacing spring on knotter trip dog.
