Once you take the 4 tapered bolts out of the input shaft you to take off the clutch lever rod that goes from the clutch pedal to the throw bearing shaft on the left side of the bell housing. Disconnect it from the lever up forward on the throw bearing shaft. Then there are two bolt at the top of the bell housing on the inside. The two bolts connect to a tube that the throw out bearing slides on to the top of the bell housing. The input shaft from the clutch to the tranny also goes through this tube. Once you pull these two bolts out the next step is to remove the two bolts that connect the throw out bearing housing to the throw out bearing lever. There should be two washers that act as keyways on this throw out bearing lever shaft. Pull the two key way washers out. You have to slide the throw out lever towards the left side of the tractor and spin it to gain access to these keyway washers. Then slide the whole shaft out to left side of the tractor. After you remove all of this then the input shaft, throw bearing guide tube, throw bearing assembly, pressure palte, and friction plate can be removed all at the same time. Pay close atention to how it all comes out because you will have to install it in a reverse manner. I have done this a couple of times on my M. It is fairly easy to do if you have a helper standing by. I figured out how to do this by looking at the parts book for the clutch. The terminology that I used for the parts mentioned above may not be correct but by looking at where I'm talking about you can figure it out. By the way, if you have an M with a 12" clutch this will not work. Check you serial number then go to the parts section of this website. If you have a serial number that has an 11" clutch you can remove it how I said above.

Today's Featured Article - The Cletrac General GG and the BF Avery A - A Bit of History - by Mike Ballash. This article is a summary of what I have gathered up from various sources on the Gletrac General GG and the B. F. Avery model A tractors. I am quite sure that most of it is accurate. The General GG was made by the Cleveland Tractor Company (Cletrac) of Cleveland, Ohio. Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac. ... [Read Article]
