If one is unfamiliar with the basic operation of the Kettering ignition/charging systems, it is wise to do a little reading about it BEFORE underaking such a conversion. You are, after all, in effect building a Kettering system from scratch. You wouldn't try to build a radio from scratch without doing a little reading first, would you? If you don't like that kind of learning, you would do well to get someone else to design the system, and then install it yourself. Consult with your local automobile electrical shop. Try to find someone who likes to fiddle with older cars. And, keep the parts associated with the mag, etc., that may no longer be needed. The tractor will be worth a few bucks more with them.
