Temp gauge for a 424

I have a 424 with a big 4 inch gauge with a mechanical water temp gauge in the lower half of it. I don;t know any reproduction being made for it. The copper line is broken. Is there any way to fix them after the tube breaks? I plan on trying to take the glass bezel off tomorrow and try to figure out some way to come up with a gauge replacement or ? Id love to hear a good idea. Has anyone replaced them with some kind of electric water temp gauge? Thanks
