I would install that heat valve if at all possiable. The tractor may start ok but its going to cough and want to die every time you open the throttle. The spring that controls that valve broke on my 706 a few years ago and turned the tractor into a coughing guttless mess below 50 degrees. Replaced the spring and it ran like new.
