Steps to take: (assuming volts to the coil are present) Remove the little wire from the side of the distributor. Remove the coil High voltage wire from the middle of the dist cap. Get a good condenser and use a jumper to ground it's body to the tractor. Attach the condenser lead and the lead from the coil together with another jumper. Put the coil high voltage wire 1/4" away from the engine block (tape helps). Turn on the ignition switch and then make and break contact with the block with the loose end of the jumper. It will spark a bit there, but it will produce a good spark (hopefully) proving the coil is good. If no good, replace the coil. If good it is in the points and condenser. JimN
