Some Ms have a drain on the bottom of the bowl. If not, Shut off the tank valva, and remove the bottom of the carb (It shaould be near full of gas, and probably is due to the fact that it will run for seconds after sitting). Lift the float gently with a finger, and (with a tin can under the carb) open the valve at the tank. (((by the way this valve should be shut off every time you get off the tractor when the engine is shut off, even for 2 min))
A stream of fuel should come out of the needle and seat about the same rate as from an excited puppy. If not it is restricted. There is also a screen in the inlet fitting of the carb. JimN
