I had a Shop mule (A engine) that had an added hydraulic system. Maybe about a one gallon reservoir, but the size depends on your application, size of cylinder, etc. There was a small pump that ran off the generator belt. I don't think it is a power steerin pump, but similar. Northern Tool has small pumps made for pulley operation that I think would work. They cost around $100 I think. Mine had a home made bracket to mount it and a little longer belt for the generator so that the belt ran both the generator and the pump. Pretty good set up, as you don't really need a relief valve, as the belt will just slip on high pressure. The set up was used ot lift a snow plow blade with about a 1 1/2 inch cylinder (one way) and a control valve. Worked well. This same setup was adapted to my I-6 where the snow plow now resides. Works good. I've never measured the pressure, but it has no problem with the blade which is heavy.

Originally the company was called the Cleveland Motor Plow Company which began in 1912, then the Cleveland Tractor Company (1917) and finally Cletrac.
