Local John Deere dealer called to see if couple of us I.H. guys might be interested in 4 tractors he took in on trade for 1 good newer JD he had on the lot . The older gent died and left this pile of iron for his wife and daughter to deal with. There is an old H which should be parted out but dealer thinks its worth a Thousand bucks. No way around here. Then there is a 986 which does run but has led a rough life and shows scars to prove it. Thinking 4000 for that. Next is a 186 Hydro with 2350 loader with front wheel assist. Supposedly the tractor runs good and the trans. is fine but the gears are stripped in the FWA? The loader has one weld on it but overall is not too bad. No value placed on that one yet. The last is a 656 Diesel 282 Hydro with very nice wide front, nice flat top single light fenders, very nice sheet metal and all emblems. Front tires are new and back ones are 20 percent. The motor is fair to good although no one has heard it run because the hydro went out five years ago and the old gent thought he could fix that a minute. Well he got it apart ok and then realized he was in way over his head so there it sets with all the lines off and wires everywhere and parts strung out in boxes and various places. Dealer wants me to make an offer on the 656 but I don't think its worth more than 800 or a thousand is it?
