Hey Paul - A few thoughts: Make sure BOTH the fan and gen belts are snug and grease-free. A slipping generator belt can cause the generator to charge intermittently or not at all. (My tractors have this problem sometimes when the belts are wet from heavy rain or power washing). Double check your wiring. Turning the light switch from L to H should have no effect whatsoever if your tractor now has a regulator installed. Double check the regulator is solidly grounded. Check also the ammeter is reading correctly (should show discharge when you turn on the lights with the engine stopped). If it's reading backward you'll need to swap the wires at the two ammeter terminals. Wouldn't hurt to polarize the generator again once you are certain the ammeter is reading correctly. ---- Hope this helps. Note: I'm gonna be away from the computer for the next few days. If you're still having problems perhaps John T can add more... Bob
