From your question, I believe you are new to this. I applaud your willingness to dive in. All of us need the manual. We have (collectively) almost all of it down, but at the risk of making mistakes we look at the book often. This site has manuals, and they are on Ebay as well. Binder Books has repo manuals, and CaseIH has new ones. Please do not take offense, but the repair manual is required in this case. That head will not come off easily, do not chisel between the surfaces to get it off. Some have had to be pulled with a plate made to push down on the stud tops while pulling on the rocker mount bolt holes (more than one of them) No measurements need to be made before removal, as they would be inacurateand worthless. Good luck, keep things clean, take photos often during removal, and place bolts and pushrods in cardboard holes to keep them in locational order to put back where they came out. JimN
