I"ll try to describe the wiring situation as best I can. If you flip the turn-off (not original of course)switch over it has 4 terminals the top two are the (run/on) position the bottom two terminals are jumpered to each other and are the (stop/off) position. The bottom left(stop/off)terminal has a wire coming from the push starter where the positive battery cable is attached. The bottom left then jumpers to the bottom right terminal. When I turn the switch to the "on" position both the top left and top right terminals become energized. The top left terminal has the warning "idiot light" wire and the top right terminal is wired to the coil and supplies power to a voltmeter. There is no jumper between the top terminals and I noticed the idiot light wire that runs to post #1 on the alternator is disconnected and dangling by the alternator. My first question is how do I handle the idiot light wire on the alternator because of the switch setup? Should the idiot light wire be moved over to the right side to the coil and voltmeter terminal. Obviously some one disconnected this from the alternator for a reason. The other thing I noticed is that there is another wire coming directly from the push starter where the positive battery cable is attached and runs directly to the alternator bat terminal. Just wondered if that was ok. Hope this makes sense, I am not well versed in this yet. Thanks as always

Since this can be extremely difficult, you may want to fabricate the item or purchase a modern replacement temporarily, but eventually, you s
