Simple Pull out a spark plug (any) and turn the engine over till it is near TDC. With a good little light and eyes you can look at the piston top. (or feel it with a wire). IF it is domed, it will be easy to detect If flat. it is not high compression. This will not tell you the altitude of the piston design, but the compression pressure (assuming good rings and valves) will be (usually) above 120 if medium dome pistons, and above 140 if high dome pistons (this also assumes your tractor is down in the less than 1000 ft elevation areas of the world).
