Like said below pull the plug and look in if it is a high alt. when that piston starts comming ou on comp. you'll see the step head of the piston LONG before it hits TDC as you keep cranking towards TDC that piston will be like the enegrgizer bunny it will keep going and going . Now if it is just a step head then it will not go why up into the head.
