As to the cracks, don't worry about it, the tractor will let you know. Unless it has been abused or the block has frozen, there won't be any. Rear housing can be cracked if a bearing failed and got caught under the bull gears, that will be obvious. Rear wheels can be moved in to fit any tandem axle trailer. An H will weigh about 4000 lbs plus, the plus depends on wheel weights, and whether the tires are loaded. Factory rear wheel weights are 145 lbs each. You should not try to handle a rear wheel by yourself, and since they can be slid in, there is no need to.
