No, when I lift I lift on the frame of the tractor or the yolk that holds the axle to the tractor. Sooo the axle will float up and down depending on which side is the heaviest. And I just leave it on the jack till I put the tires back on. If the jack settles down while waiting to put the tires back on it will not hurt a thing. Jack it back up and put the wheels on. You could set it on blocks if you want. Gary
