I'd say it previously had some kind of a wooden flat bed on it with that 4 x 8 runner remaining. I believe the factory bed was entirely made of metal, runners and all. It's been too long since I saw one. On the availabilty of the hoist, again I can't say for sure, but I can tell you that I did buy a hoist one time complete with brackets that had a sticker on it designating it for the model #52. I don't remember right off what brand the hoist is.
