All depends on condition and you say it is excellent, so it being a 39 which is the first year of production I would think it could be anywhere from 1500 to 3500 depending on the day and who is wanting one. Many M's can be bought for less than a thousand. That being said I am wondering why you don't keep your dad's tractor? Remember that once it is gone it will be hard to track down and get back, should you decide in the future that you wish you had your dad's old tractor. I have my grandpa's 1950 Cub and it takes me back to my childhood and the time I spent with gramps. I would not dream of ever letting it go. He thought that little tractor was the greatest thing since the wheel. That is my opinion for what it is worth.
