Can't say about the 706, but my father-in-law bought a new 806 in the spring of 1964 and it sticks in my mind he paid something like $6800 for it. He traded a 560 in on it, and I can't recall if the $6800 was the total price or the difference on the 560. As I recall, he farmed with it for 8 years, traded it in on a new 1066, and got more trade-in than he paid for it. But, he always serviced his equipment by the book and didn't abuse it. And people in the area knew it.
