The only pan seat I ever came off of was on my John Deere #4 big sickle bar mower behind my percheron team. I was cutting hay in a strange field and ran diagonally into a small irrigation ditch....The lines to the team were not nearly as secure as a steering wheel. I went off the back into the ditch, the team stopped, the mower rolled back and pinned me down.. Nothing hurt just couldn't move.. I still had the lines and asked the team to step up... they took one step and pulled the mower off me.. I got up, brushed off and we went on mowing... I was very thankfull for a well trained and calm team of horses.. Tallperson
