Most any gas or diesel engine will operate most efficiently at 180-200 degrees F. Considering that the cooling system on tractors is usually oversized to handle heavy loads for long times in hot weather, it is no wonder the temp on your tractor is running cool. Put a known good thermometer in the radiator fill opening to check what is coming out of the engine before going through the radiator.(BE CAREFUL OPENING THE CAP!!) Adjust the shutter so the engine is operating midrange so the oil gets hot enough to burn off the impurities collected from the combustion process.
