Bill, The IH's we have, both PTO's turn at the same time but at different speeds and generally when you pull an implement you only need one PTO shaft to operate it. The newer JD's we have have only 1 output shaft BUT you could remove a snap ring then take out the shaft and put it in the other direction and replace the snap ring. The shaft you removed had a splined center with a 540 RPM on one end and a 1000 RPM on the other. As for when the IH started with two shafts coming out of the rear end I don't know. Butch
