Its probably ran on gasoline since it was new. Many tractors made in the late 40's and early 50's never saw tractor fuel or kerosene. Run her on gas, she won't care. If the manifold doesn't leak, don't worry about it. If it needs a different one, put on one that's available, either salvage yard, after market or new IH, if you can find one that you don't have to pay an arm & a leg for - it won't care as long is it fits.
