J. C. it can use a wide variety of oils. Hy-Tran or equivelent, AW 32 hydraulic oil or plain non detergent motor oil works fine. I use SAE 30 weight non detergent in mine and have never had any problems with them. The old manuals called for 10 weight for cold weather use, and 20 as it got warmer, and 30 for hot seasons or climates. There might be a dip stick under the cap if not it holds 6 quarts total. It wont hurt it to fill until you can see or touch the oil with your finger. If there is no dip stick it may be in the bottom of the resivoir it is common for them to fall in there. It won't hurt it if it is, but you may be able to get it out with a magnet.
