Put a smaller pin inside the one you have already put in there. It not only makes it stronger but it will spread the first pin a little more to make it tighter in the holes. The problem with a bolt is they are not tight enough in the holes and will wear a little and then shear off. Originally there was a tapered groove pin in that hole. Being tapered it was a press fit when installed. Unfortunately too often when those pins are removed the are either driven all the way through the holes and the holes get stretched or the pins get reused and they then do not fit tight enough to stay in.
