Don: This may have been a geographic issue. Both my 560 and 656 came with 7.50x16, now I was very close to potato country and a lot of tractors had front mounted cultivators. I can't say as I ever saw a 560, 706, 656, etc with anything smaller than 7.50x16 and by the late 60s the newer tractors were even wider. We were very used to H, M, 300, 400, etc with 6.50x16. I liked the 7.50x16 on those two tractors, wouldn't have wanted any smaller. This was one complaint I had 35-40 years ago, tractors were becomming much larger and the tire size was not increasing in proportion to weight, size and hp. I always said my 2 wheel drive 1066 should have had 20-24 inch front tires. I was also running 16.9x38 on rear of 560 and 656 and 20.8x38 on 1066. Both my 560 and 656 came with 15.5x38 rears and let me tell you they were undertired. 16.9x38 made a real tractor out of both, I couldn't belive the difference when I made the change.

"It's a tough little tractor, although it's a hard starter being a diesel and all." He did manage to get it running, compliments of a can of ether. Once started it putted along pretty good. It
