If you mean the gear shift handle there are two round plugs near the top of the cast tower. These are removed by pushing in one with a brass drift punch (usually the left one)the other pops out. Under there is a pin that can be pushed out (if worn with some effort, and moving pushing down on the lever).
If you mean a real shift fork, there are three of them, and the top of the trans has to come off the main casting to get at them. A book, and a cherrypicker are pretty much needed. JimN
